Outreach Event: Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day

Event Description: PEER helped sponsor a Caltech SWE (Society of Women Engineers) event, where 70 middle school girls were invited to visit Caltech engineering labs. This event took place on February 23rd, at Caltech in Pasadena, California. Two groups of 25 students visited the Caltech Dynamics Laboratory and participated in a mini-shake table experiment. The middle school students were introduced to basic earthquake engineering principles as they interacted with Civil Engineering graduate students.
