Deierlein, Gregory

2023 PEER Annual Meeting Gregory Deierlein is a Professor and Director of the Blume Earthquake Engineering Center at Stanford University, and he co-directs the NSF supported Computational Modeling and Simulation Center (SimCenter) of the Natural Hazards Engineering Research Infrastructure (NHERI). He previously served as Deputy Director of PEER from 2000-2007. Deierlein specializes in the seismic design and behavior of structures, computational simulation of buildings and civil infrastructure, and performance-based engineering. He was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2013 and is active in development of building code standards and research to promote community resilience to earthquakes and other natural hazards.
