Eberhard, Marc

PEER Annual Meeting 2023 Speaker Bio: Marc Eberhard is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Washington. He received his BS degrees in Civil Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1985. He received his MSCE (1987) and PhD (1989) in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research focuses on the seismic performance and rapid construction of reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete bridges. He received the NSF Presidential Young Investigator’s Award (1991), PCI Charles Z. Zollman Award (2013), ASCE T.Y. Lin Award (2014), Puget Sound Academic Engineer of the Year Award (2018), and Structures Best Research Paper prize (2020 and 2022). He currently serves on the Seismic Safety Committee for the State of Washington, and on the Seismic Advisory Board for the California Department of Transportation and the California High-Speed Rail Authority.
