Miranda, Eduardo

PEER Annual Meeting 2023 Speaker Bio:Eduardo Miranda is a professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University. He obtained his Civil Engineering degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and his MSc and PhD degrees from the University of California at Berkeley. One of his main research interests is Performance-Based Earthquake Engineering where he has made contributions to the methodology for individual structures and more recently at the regional level, characterization of strong motion intensity, fragility functions and seismic response of nonstructural components. He currently chairs the PEER's Research committee and co-chairs EERI's Learning From Earthquakes (LFE) program. After the 2022 Ferndale earthquake he conducted a reconnaissance with other PEER investigators with emphasis on performance of residential construction and instrumented bridges. Updated August, 2023
