The 2023 PEER Annual Meeting will be held August 24-25 in the MLK Building, Pauley Ballroom and will feature the role of trans-disciplinary performance-based engineering for natural hazards to achieve economic and community resilience. The meeting will open on Thursday, August 24th with forward-looking plenary sessions on the Turkey, Ecuador and Ferndale earthquakes, and how these events relate to the US. The PEER Student Committee will hold Lightning Talks in the afternoon with a cash prize given to the winning presentation. The day will close with a poster presentation and reception.

On Friday, August 25th, concurrent breakout sessions will be formatted for presentations on PEER funded projects. All sessions will feature research, its implementation, and discussion of advancements needed for the future. Other plenary sessions will look at new funding opportunities and include a panel discussion.

POSTER SESSION & STUDENT PARTICIPATION

  • Emerging researchers and students are encouraged to apply to participate in the poster session and selected sessions during the annual meeting.
  • If a student’s poster is selected, they will have the opportunity to participate as an assistant moderator at selected sessions during the Annual Meeting.
  • All accepted posters will be displayed during the PEER poster session on the evening of Thursday, August 24, 2023.
  • Deadline for poster session applications is Monday, August 14, 2023 (updated 8/10/23)
