StEER Issues Event Briefings on Mozambique Cyclones and Philippines Earthquakes

June 10, 2019

The Structural Extreme Events Reconnaissance (StEER) Network is pleased to announce the release a new type of StEER dissemination product -- the Event Briefing -- which is typically released within 48 hours of an event for which StEER will not deploy virtual or field assessment teams, but still warrants some commentary. These briefings summarize the event characteristics and key lessons learned. Two such briefings have been released and curated on DesignSafe for major international events:

  • Robertson, I., Prevatt, D., Roueche, D., Kijewski-Correa, T., Mosalam, K., (2019-06-04) “StEER - 14 March and 25 April, 2019 Cyclones Idai and Kenneth in Mozambique: Event Briefing.” DesignSafe-CI. DOI: https://doi.org/10.17603/ds2-ae92-6v90
  • Gunay, S., Mosalam, K., Kijewski-Correa, T., Prevatt, D., Robertson, I., Roueche, D., (2019-06-04) “StEER - 22/23 April, 2019 Philippines Earthquakes: Event Briefing.” DesignSafe-CI. https://doi.org/10.17603/ds2-6my9-yz67

These and all other StEER products are also available on the StEER website: https://www.steer.network/products

Note that StEER continues to respond to two tornado events, one in Jefferson City, MO, and another in Linwood, KS. Reports will be released for these events shortly.
