PEER Annual Meeting 2023 Speaker Bio: Chao-Hsien Li is a Senior Research Engineer at CoreBrace, LLC. He is conducting analytical studies for the research and development of Buckling-Restrained Braces (BRBs). He received his Ph.D. from the UC San Diego in 2022. His research interests focus on earthquake-resistant design of steel structures with emphasis on large scale structural testing and numerical simulation of seismic response of steel structures. His doctoral research was on the seismic behavior and design of collectors in steel buildings, for which he conducted experiments that utilized the NHERI@UCSD large high performance outdoor shake table (LHPOST). Before returning to school to pursue doctoral studies, Chao-Hsien served as an assistant researcher in the Taiwan National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE) for 9 years. His research work at NCREE was mainly on seismic design of Steel Plate Shear Wall systems. Updated July, 2023.
