The NHERI Computational Modeling and Simulation Center (SimCenter) is hosting a one-day User Workshop on the UC Berkeley campus. The overall goal of this open invitation workshop is to give community members the opportunity to interact with the SimCenter leadership and development teams and to receive updates on current and upcoming SimCenter products. Participants will engage in discussions and have multiple opportunities to provide feedback on SimCenter tools and the Center’s direction. Workshop participants will include natural hazards engineering experts, researchers, and current and future SimCenter users representing a broad user community.
SimCenter personnel will introduce available resources and opportunities. The agenda will include: presentations of SimCenter goals, products, work plan, and workflow use cases; small group sessions for focused interactions; and breakout sessions to determine users’ specific needs for custom capabilities. Refreshment breaks and lunch will be provided.
The intended workshop participants include active NHERI researchers, long-term end-users including urban planners, public officials, and others who seek to improve community resilience to natural hazards. Financial support is available for a limited number of participants for travel and lodging expenses. Researchers from under-represented groups are especially encouraged to register and apply for financial support. Registration must be complete by April 13, 2018, if requesting financial support. Registration for the event closes April 30, 2018. Final agenda, hotel information, and logistics will be issued to registrants.
This workshop is supported by NSF Award Number CMMI-1612843. Learn more about the SimCenter at simcenter.designsafe-ci.org
