PEER is excited to announce the addition of Ms. Heidi Faison as the new Outreach Director. Heidi comes to PEER with a unique background in both engineering and outreach.
Heidi is a licensed Professional Engineer with over 8 years in the field of earthquake engineering with an emphasis in structural design. She is affiliated with several engineering organizations including SEAONC, EERI, and AISC. Heidi holds a bachelors degree in architectural engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
The basis for Heidi's outreach and technology transfer experience is her prior employment by EERI as an assistant to the Learning from Earthquakes program. In that role she worked on various projects including the World Housing Encyclopedia and the development of several emerging earthquake reconnaissance technologies. Currently she is also member of the World Housing Encyclopedia editorial board.
In her role as Outreach Director, Heidi will be responsible for PEER's outreach and communications activities, including seminars, workshops, conferences, publications, and other events. She also can be available to apply her engineering training and experience to help PEER researchers disseminate their research findings to practicing engineers and other interested parties. Researchers are encouraged to contact Heidi directly to inquire about opportunities or to suggest new avenues for PEER technology transfer.
