The United States Geological Survey's National Seismic Hazard Mapping Project (NSHMP) is in the process of updating the seismic hazard maps during 2012-2013. As a part of this process, they will hold a public ground motion workshop on December 12-13, 2012 in the International House at University of California, Berkeley. This workshop will be hosted by the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center (PEER).
The workshop discussion will focus on published ground motion models for earthquakes within active crustal areas, stable continental regions, and subduction zones. To download the preliminary agenda, visit the workshop website.
Attending the workshop is free of charge; however, advance registration is required. All parties who plan to attend in person at the Berkeley International House or remotely via the web, must register. This registration form will be used to make name tags, confirm the necessary number of breakfast/lunch meals, and finalized the room set-up, thus it is critical that you register by November 21, 2012.
For the convenience of attendees, note that this two-day workshop immediately follows the NGA-East Working Meeting on Simulations on December 11.
All interested parties are encouraged to participate in this important workshop that will influence future building codes for the U.S.
