PEER-UC Berkeley Shaking Table Lab hosted a tour for Service to Industry clients in early February. The tour began with presentations by PEER Director Mosalam, Andy Coughlin (Tobolski Watkins), and Maryann Phipps (EStructure), who outlined code requirements and the intention behind seismic qualification testing for equipment in essential facilities. A tour of the Earthquake Shaking Table included viewing a seismic qualification test of critical equipment specified for a current project.
Tour attendees included representatives from the owner, equipment manufacturer, practicing structural and mechanical engineers, architect, and the contractor and subcontractor.
