Modeling
For this research, modeling will be done using LS-DYNA and MIDAS FEA software.
To reduce the time needed for EFGM calculation, a simplified smaller concrete cylinder model is first used. The determined velocities are then obtained as from the measured data is to be input as a initial conditions. After computing with the LS-DYNA and MIDAS FEA software, the resulting data and figures would be obtained which give the result of cracking, deformation, and stress distribution.
The modeled structure and the analyzed result from it would be compared with the digitized image result, which could be obtained from OPTECAL. By the post-processing of the data, the openings of the cracks could be measured from the digital images. The variation of the distance is measured by counting pixels. The diameter of the crater due to the impact also would be measured. Theses resulting values would be later compared with the result from the modeling, which would work as a verification step for the modelling.
