PEER Workshop, May 23, 2017: Structural Health Monitoring

Nacelle of an A380The purpose of this hands-on workshop is to become familiar with the algorithms commonly used in structural health monitoring. Each participant will be provided a data set and will learn how to perform damage assessment using Matlab. Please make sure that you bring a laptop with Matlab installed.

Date: Tuesday, May 23, 2017
Time: 9am (sharp) – noon
Location: 502 Davis Hall, UC Berkeley

Consider attending the accompanying seminar: Structural Health Monitoring of Composite Structures: Application to Aeronautic Nacelles on Friday, May 19, 11am-noon, 502 Davis Hall.

WORKSHOP PRESENTER:
Marc Rébillat,
Associate Professor, PIMM – ENSAM/CNRS/CNAM. Professor Rébillat was hired as an associate professor within the DYSCO team at PIMM in September 2012 after his PhD thesis was awarded the Rocard Prize from the French Acoustical Society (SFA). His research deals with the formalization of Parallel Hammerstein nonlinear models identification methods and of their use for structural health monitoring purposes, under the assumption that damages generate dynamical nonlinearities. He also has activities related to the dynamical behavior of large structures equipped with electrodynamical or piezo-electric transducers with applications to audio and ultrasonic acoustics.
