Question: Is the overhead 35%, per UCOP agreement with Caltrans? 
Answer: It is for a PEER-Bridge project, which has the full overhead by UC-Caltrans agreement. Please use 35% for overhead.

PEER-Bridge RFP 25-03 Now Closed

Question 1: Is the overhead 35%, per UCOP agreement with Caltrans? 
Answer: It is for a PEER-Bridge project, which has the full overhead by UC-Caltrans agreement. Please use 35% for overhead.

Question 2: It appears that a substantial amount of work was done as an early phase of this project. Many references indicate a significant involvement of previous projects. Is the current proposal an extension of prior work?  A clarification on this would be appreciated.

Answer: As noted in the "Background" section of the RFP, a significant amount of work was done in the past that is related to the current work. The current proposal will build on the past work done on this topic. Building from previous projects, prior expertise and experimental capabilities are required to execute this project.

The deadline to submit questions to peer_center@berkeley.edu is November 10, 2023 at 5pm (PT).

Question: For the RFP 23-02 project, is the overhead 35% per page 3, or waived as noted elsewhere? 
Answer: It is for a PEER Bridge project, which has the full overhead by UC-Caltrans agreement. Only projects in response to TSRP should have their overhead waived. This is not an RFP for TSRP. Please use the 35% overhead as per UC-Caltrans agreement.

  • PEER-Bridge Questions and Answers. We received only one question regarding the RFP:
    • Q: Is it OK to add experimental testing task to the scope?

      A: Even though the RFP did not specify experimental testing, PEER & Caltrans are open to the idea.  If there are compelling reasons for doing the testing, the proposal meets the RFP's objectives and is done within the budget specified in the RFP, then the proposal will be considered.
